CBSE Class 10 Exam Date Sheet 2025

For the academic year 2024-25 the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared that the Class 10 board examination will tentatively commence from 15th February 2025 onwards. As students pull up their socks for one of the most important chunks of their academic journey, keeping a close eye on the exam schedule, preparing properly, and managing time effectively are the way to success.

Important Dates for CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2025

The CBSE Class 10 exams are tentatively supposed to commence from 15th February 2025 and will stretch until Mach with different subjects scheduled will in different date slots. However, the official dates are anticipated to be declared in the month of December 2024. Mentioned below are the estimated dates based on previous annual schedules:

Hindi: February 15, 2025  

English: February 21, 2025  

Mathematics: February 17, 2025  

Science: February 26, 2025  

Social Science: March 02, 2025

CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The CBSE Class 10th examination are structured in a way that each subject is divided into theorical and practical component:

Theory Exams: 80 marks  

Internal Assessment: 20 marks  

For subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, the written paper holds more weight, while internal assessments contribute to the final grade. The internal assessment usually comprises of periodic tests, completion and submission of notebook, and subject specific activities.

Vocational subjects along with Information Technology (IT) usually have practical or assignment-based assessments, where the practical exams are also very important.

Strategies To Prepare For Class 10 Board Exams

As the exams are coming closer it is important to have effective examination preparation strategies at the disposal. Lister below are some major strategies that will make you to ensure top notch performance in 10th board examination.

1. Curate a Study Timetable:

Class 10 Practical Exam Dates

The CBSE practical exams for Class 10 will be held from January 1, 2025, for schools in most regions. However, for schools located in winter-bound areas, have early practical examination, from November 5 to December 5, 2024.

Subjects with practical components, like Information Technology, require students to perform well in both theory and practical exams to secure a good overall grade.

CBSE Class 10th, 12th compartment exams date sheet released; check schedule

 CBSE Class 10, 12 compartment datesheeet: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for class 10, 12 compartment exams 2022. 

The exams for both classes will begin on August 23. Candidates can check the entire schedule at the official website – cbse.gov.in

The class 12 exams will be conducted on August 23. The timings of exams are different as per the exam syllabus. The class 10 exam will begin on August 23 with the mathematic exam and will end on August 29 with language paper. 

Students who applied for 6 or more subjects but were unable to pass any of the first 5 subjects, with the exception of language, declared pass by substituting the sixth subject from the failed subject are also permitted in compartment examinations to enhance performance in the failed subject.

All the candidates have been advised to carry their own hand sanitizer in transparent bottle. Reading time of 15 minutes will be given to the students to read the question paper. 

As per the earlier notification released by the board, the compartment exams will only be conducted on term II syllabus in subjective mode. Candidates have to write their answers on the answer sheet provided by CBSE.

CBSE announced the class 10, 12 results on July 22. In Class 12 results, the board recorded an overall pass percentage of 92.71 per cent while in Class 10, 94.40 per cent of students managed to pass the exam. The board divided the academic year into two terms this year where term 1 exams were conducted in MCQ format and term 2 exam were conducted in subjective mode. For calculating the final result, 30:70 ratio was given to term 1 and term 2.

Cbse Date Sheet 2022 Class 12: Important instruction for parents and students

  • Candidates will carry their own hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle.
  • Candidates will cover their nose, mouth and nose with a mask.
  • Candidates will follow social distancing norms.
  • Parents will guide their ward(s) about precautions to be taken by them to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
  • Parents will ensure that their ward is not sick.
  • All Instructions issued while appearing in Examination Centres will be strictly adhered to by the candidates.
  • Candidates will follow all instructions given on the admit card.
  • The duration of each examination will be on the date-sheet and admit card.
  • A total of 15 minutes of reading time will be given to the students to read the question paper.

Cbse Date Sheet 2022 Class 12: Special consideration made for the date sheet

  • As the schools were closed due to the pandemic which has led to learning losses, therefore, more gap has been given between the two examinations in almost all the subjects in both classes.
  • Wherever the gap is a little less, such examinations have been kept at a later date so that students can get sufficient time for the preparation of these examinations.
  • Other competitive examinations, including JEE Main, have been taken care of while preparing the date sheet. 4. These date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 35000 subject combinations to ensure that no two subjects' examinations of a student fall on the same date.
  • Despite the fact that the temperature would be a little higher, the start of the examination will be at 10.30 AM because it will not be possible to start the examination earlier as examinations will be conducted in 26 more countries than that of India.
  • Similarly, for the same reason, examinations cannot be conducted in two shifts.

The CBSE date sheet 2022 for Classes 10 and 12 have been released today. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the CBSE Term 2 exams in April-May for the two board classes. From the academic year 2021-2022 onwards, CBSE has shifted to the two-term board-exam pattern, following which many state boards are also deciding the same.


The CBSE Term 2 exam dates are from April 26 to May 24 for Class 10. The CBSE date sheet 2022 Class 12 and CBSE date sheet 2022 Class 10 have been released today on the official website cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic.nic.in for the major subjects only.

The CBSE admit cards will need to be collected from the respective schools of the candidates.

CBSE board exam 2022 details

The CBSE Term 2 paper will only test students on the rationalised syllabus like the last years due to Covid-19. That rationalised syllabus will be divided into two for the two terms.

The CBSE Term 2 exam will be of 120 minutes for each subject and based on both MCQs and subjective questions.

Practical and internal assessment exams will be held at the respective schools of candidates before the CBSE Term 2 exams end. The allotted marks will be 50% of the total and schools will be informed about the detailed scheme so they can plan accordingly.

The CBSE Term 1 result 2022 will be declared only in the form on marks in each subject. No student will be placed in the pass, compartment, and essential repeat categories after the first term exam. The final results will be declared after CBSE Term 2 board exam is over.

What CBSE took care of while preparing the date sheet

As per the CBSE date sheets, here's what the board took care of while preparing them:

1. As the schools were closed due to pandemic which has led to learning losses, therefore, more gap has been given between the two examinations in almost all the subjects in both the classes.

2. Wherever the gap is a little lesser, such examinations have been kept at a later date so that students can get sufficient time for the preparation of these examinations.

3. Other competitive examinations including JEE Main have been taken care of while preparing the date sheet.

4. These date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 35000 subjects' combinations to ensure that no two subjects' examinations of a student fall on the same date.

5.
