CBSE vs ICSE Board - Differences

 While the education system is divided into three stages, namely- Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary; the boards that offer education are as follows:  

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)

ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education)

State Level Boards that go by the name of the state.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Boards are limited to the top tier cities of the country

Syllabus – If you look at the syllabus, you will find that the syllabus of CBSE board will be really helpful if you are preparing for competitive exams like JEE or NEET etc. Because CBSE Syllabus is much better when it comes to theoretical knowledge. But when it comes to practical knowledge ICSE syllabus have the upper hand.

Difficulty Level – ICSE Syllabus is considered to be more difficult than CBSE. That is because ICSE syllabus has more internal assessments and concepts that can be applied to practicals as well.

Medium of Instructions – CBSE gives instructions in English as well as in Hindi but ICSE follows only English.

Both ICSE and CBSE is known for good knowledge to students for the future. ICSE is an Indian private board which is designed as a more affordable alternative to international schools with international curriculum, whereas CBSE is a centralized board which have a curriculum which is accepted to every type of students
